A month after Carlo Lizzani’s death, Rome International Film Festival pays tribute to the great filmmaker projecting “Il processo di Verona” (The process of Verona) at the Teatro Studio.
Twenty years after the narrated events, Lizzani shows on the screen a historical film about the crucial moments between the Duce’s dismission and his shooting.
The film tells the story with historical eye, starting from the family tragedy of Edda Ciano (Silvana Mangano), Mussolini’s daughter and wife of Galeazzo Ciano Mussolini’s Duce’s dolphin, between family ethics and reason of state.
An intense film about the end of the Fascist regime seen by the critical and careful of the great filmmaker.
